Alright, I know nothing's free but I just took my ST in for its first service and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the dealer doesn't charge for that first oil change.

I also did a trackday recently that was paid for by the dealer - catered brekkie and lunch, isotonic drinks, track to ourselves for 3 hours and only 20 bikes.

Above and beyond, or only what's to be expected of a dealer?

You are very lucky and the dealer must be very hungry for business. Don't piss off the dealer!

Coffee. Pleasant conversation in the showroom.

That said, though, the same dealer gave me a very good deal and generous trade-in allowance when I bought the bike.

Excellent, immediate attention to two warranty issues that came up since then, including no questions asked use of a loaner for a week while they waited for a part. No "they all do that sir." No "We have to check with the fatherland." They made it right. On non-warranty work, the costs are reasonable and the promises made are kept. Including the bike being ready when the say it will be ready.

I'll take that kind of treatment over "freebies" hidden in the mark up any day. MotOhio in Columbus OH, by the way.

1000 miles a month is simply not enough fun with this bike.

So the job is going to have to go.

Pogi, your dealer sounds awesome! I like my local dealer, and I think they are honest and do very good work. I get free coffee. Everything else is on my bill.

Besides the free coffee, I got a container of polish and a bike cover free from my dealer.

I was told to not run with it in my hand or I'd poke my eye out!

After that 15 second demo, what did you do with the rest of the day?

Hmmm I'm starting to feel spoiled by the dealer, but then I should point out that I had to pay more than US$25,000 for my ST
