Motorcycle.com, which is based from the Tapatalk platform, has made available for your download the Motorcycle.com App, available to Apple and Android Phones and Tablets. It’s available as a free or paid version. You can find it by searching “Motorcycle.com” in the app store or by clicking here: www.motorcycle.com/mobile/
The functionality of the free vs. paid app is the same; however, the major difference between the two is the presence of the advertisements, or absence thereof, respectively.
For users who access the forum using a mobile browser, you will not be prompted to download the app every time you access the forum. The prompt is cookie-based and will only happen once every 30 days, unless you delete all the cookies off your mobile device or use the browser’s incognito mode.
Yes I totally agree. I do have a smart phone and a tablet but as an IT professional my hair raises at the idea that we had a perfect open source platform (the browsers which are available for all OS's and in the last decade started to all support the same rules as defined by the W3C-foundation) and throw it all away for device specific solutions. So glad the browser version of f800riders is still available and the latest versions of the mobile devices are capable enough to be used as a PC or Mac so no more use for site specific 'apps'.
So even though I refuse to use Tapatalk myself, please reconsider and let the generic Tapatalk users use this site in the way that pleases them.
I just had a conversation with Philip on the 'Sent from Motorcycle.com Free App' tag spam, which will get to be a nuisance if a lot of members start using the app, but afterwards I discovered you can change the signature in the settings menu, but the 'Sent from Motorcycle.com Free App' tag spam will still show unless you delete it manually.

With signature issue, we have an update/fix in place in the which takes care of that issue as well and we are just waiting on the apple store and play store to approve the new version. The new version should hopefully be rolled out within the next few weeks.

You can only link urls...? Or can you actually uppload pics from your phone to the forum?
Cuz i cant find it, what ive done is to uppload pics to tinypic.com etc... Then link the url.. In tapatalk you could uppload it directly into the post without upploading it first on tinypic or similar.
On the app when replying or creating a new thread, you do not see the camera icon on the bottom right corner?
You would click on the camera icon, then select 'Gallery' to choose photo from your phone, select the image, then 'This Forum' to upload. Once uploaded as attached, you can click 'Inline' to insert it on a post like so below.

Another much less involved user here since Tapatalk support was removed.
Had it on my smart phone along with a number of other forums and it's the perfect solution to have one apt hat handles them all.
I won't go the specific app route for a social site like this so my input is now relegated to the much rarer time on a PC.
Real backwards step and I can't see the gain.
