Interested to know what peoples preferences are, personally I like leather trousers with a textile jacket or in the summer a leather jacket with kevlar jeans.

Hmmm, not quite enough options to cover what I wear on the bike. I wear a textile jacket and pants (but not a onesie like the Aerostitch) when traveling. Around town and for fair weather day rides, I wear a leather jacket and a pair of BMW City 2 jeans.

I agree, I use textile while touring and leathers for bumbling around local.

Textile (Goretex) armoured jacket and trousers. In summer I remove the linings and open the ventilation zips.

Textile jacket & trousers (BMW Tourshell). Changes into leather pants in warm weather and no rain expected.

I'm impressed with the number that wear a onesie. Mebbe Aerostitch has a "footie" version out that I don't know about? Otherwise, mix leather/textile depending on the ride/conditions.

Agree... not enough combinations in the survey....

My usual is my Klim or Tourmaster armored textile jacket with Kevlar jeans. Longer or more aggressive rides, I wear my Tourmaster armored over-pants. I have a mesh Tourmaster Hi-Vis for hot summer days.

As others mentioned, not enough choices in the survey.

Depending on the temperature, leather jacket or armored textile mesh jacket and kevlar jeans on local rides, and for longer rides, a one piece Aerostich suit.

It's much depends on the weather conditions. As in summers i love to come up on the road with textile jacket and trouser. But in winters always prefer to loaded with the high quality leather suit usually Alpinestar's.

Depends on the season and where I'm going. I have two textile jackets with removable linings and a leather jacket with a removable lining. One jacket is very light, shorter and great in warmer weather. My 'touring' jacket is mesh airflowed with a waterproof and a quilted liner, each removable. My leather jacket which I actually bought at Aldi for 170AUD is a beauty. Full armour and zip out liner. It's also beautifully made. Went in to buy dog food and came out with dog food AND a leather jacket!

I wear leather touring pants in winter and when touring, summer and winter. Fully padded without sliders. I bought these pants in the mid 1980s and just can't part with them. Really comfortable. I had them relined before last winter. Just jeans for shorter trips in summer. I wear a textile jacket when touring or on longer trips.

Your poll results will get skewed some. I voted for the first option, but don't wear leather pants...but then I don't have a textile suit either.

You'll think I go overboard, but that's okay.

Agree that Klim makes excellent kit. It ain't cheap, but water proof and bomber zippers and attention to detail. I've done multiple days of travel in driving rain and never felt a drop of moisture inside pants and jacket. Off the bike, there is much to be desired. This is heavy, stiff gear that is made for the riding position. In addition, this is shell only and will require base layer and thermal layer if riding in the winter. Benefits? In the riding position, this stuff just melts away. Comfortable, with lots of give at knees, hips and shoulders. I've never noticed binding at any spot. Pockets in all the right places. Well executed venting, and multiple sizing options. I've worn the Badlands Pro gear shown here for 3 seasons and other than softening somewhat, still performs as new. I know that there are Gore-Tex detractors that swear it is overpriced and responsible for their teen's misbehavior, killings in Chicago and global warming, but consider me a tea guzzler. The stuff just works. Waterproof and guaranteed so by Klim and Gore-Tex for as long as you own it. Disclaimer: While I have had some slow speed tip overs on my KTM, I have fortunately had no high speed crashes on pavement. Therefore, I cannot attest to high speed crash worthiness.

For me comfort is almost as important as safety, I find discomfort a major distraction, my usual longer distance is as below, old battered Rukka Airmax Goretex jacket, Ancient Richa leather pants which are far better quality than most stuff available today! and my Racer gloves which just always seem to fit my odd shaped hands

Mark, I have the Badlands, as you say you do need base layers with the Klim, that is only for chill/cold weather (for me anyway). Yes it is heavy when I handle the kit, but when it is on I do not feel the weight.

I got mine from Adventure Biking here in the U.K. Difficult to find first time as on industrial est, very helpful though.

I even have the KLIM logo on the bike, now how sad is that

I use the leather suites, one or two pieces depend if there is cold or not, the one piece suite is fully perforated so I use it only in summer, then I have also one two pieces suite for cold days and a couple for hot days, but if is hot I prefer to use the one piece suite because, as carlos said, comfort is the most important thing for safety and I find the one piece suite more comfortable than the two pieces ones.
but I admit that if you wear the leather suite for all the day a two pieces suites is more practical.

One thing I do know is that I have far too much kit!

Three pairs of trousers, four jackets, and one piece leathers, three pairs of boots, four pairs of gloves and three helmets. I can't seem to stop buying stuff!!

I love to wear VC gears I have been using this jacket https://www.vikingcycle.com/collecti...jacket-for-men for the last year and am pretty comfortable with the build quality. I'm a city rider who loves to ride on the weekends.

I am not an AGAT kind of person. Instead I wear what I feel is appropriate based on my own risk/comfort/convenience calculation on any given day. Please note that I an NOT a fair weather rider. I'll commute and tour in temps from 25-105F (-4 to 41C) and have ridden tens of thousands of miles in the wet.

As for the gear I own: I have 3 jackets, all of which are textile. One is a mesh made by Joe Rocket and obviously for hot days, one is a non-insulated Gortex lined shell made by Klim for 3 seasons and rain, and one is an insulated longer length winter touring jacket made my Joe Rocket. All three of my jackets have D30 armor in the back, shoulders and elbows. As for pants, I have a pair of FirstGear mesh overpants with D30 armor in the knees and hips (works well over shorts on hot days, and with a rain/wind liner on cold/wet days). I also have a Gerbing heated jacket liner which works nicely under both non-mesh jackets). As for gloves, I have Ruka Airium for summer, Ruka Virium (gortex, no insulation) for 3 seasons, and Gerbing heated gloves for winter. I have a pair of Gortex lined police/military style heavy duty boots made by Danner, but they were not designed for motorcycles. Lastly, I have a pair of heavily insulated snowmobile pants that are not armored, but are great when riding in near/sub freezing temps.

What I wear on a specific day varies dramatically by the situation:

-Hot summer day running errands in town (5 miles round trip, top speed 40mph)- No helmet, t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, no gloves
-Cooler day running errands- helmet, Klim jacket, Ruka gloves, normal jeans, street shoes/sneakers
-Commuting to/from work (20 miles round trip, top sped 55mph)- helmet, jacket/gloves (which ones depend on weather), overpants if it is under 70 degrees F, and whatever shoes I wore to work
-Road Trips/Touring/Aggressive riding (100-6000 mile trips over 1-16 days)- All the gear including boots. I'll even wear it all in the 100+ degree days.
08' F800ST- side panniers & Shad SH45 top case, Russell Day Long seat, MRA Vario Windscreen, SW Motech crash bars, ZTechnik exhaust, PC-8 fuseblock, Stebel Nautilus horn, Throttlemeister throttle lock, SW Motech handlebar risers, LED fog lights, highway pegs
