Well it only to my HP 2 days to get windows 10 loaded and working.
    So far wonderful.
My Pandora jerks and twitches when running in the background if I do anything on another window.
The Video stuff on Yahoo news to anything video goes green screen and had interesting but useless color patterns.
Selected items seem to take longer to pop open.
Spider solitaire is no longer a click away. Couldn't even get through the Byzantine log in necessary to access it. Therefor I see me spending a heck of a lot less time sitting on my dead ass watching Utube and the like and playing endless hours playing solitaire like I did.
I see myself reading neglected book and periodical I subscribe to in a timely manner. I'll probably get calluses on my fingers from playing the instruments I have hanging on the wall. I might even do some maintenance on my bikes since I won't be computer enslaved.
Gob bless Microsoft and the engineers who have cut my umbilical through their careful demise of a perfectly acceptable operating system, windows 7.

It is (supposed to be anyway) an upgrade to my Windows 8 on my desktop. So far so good, if I should even say that I'm probably a fool at this point. I've had it for about 10 days. Had a few glitches. Removed "Cortara" and their own Windows 10 browser off the toolbar as they are both useless. I use Bing anyway and have never even wanted Google anything unless it was Google maps to find a set of coordinates along our US Border fence for work or print a turn to turn map that I didn't even use to get to somewhere I had never been. ( The new windows browser was telling me I wasn't even connected to the internet and saying ("Sorry can't get to that page right now type of BS"). I Didn't even leave it on long enough to remember what it was called, So Adios.

Don't need to sync any of my devices and limited most all feedback to MS and Windows and Bing which I have always cleared my browser history everyday anyway. Its none of their business what I do on my computer. The "Use Default Settings" to do the upgrade was so intrusive and "Going advanced" was about 15 pages deep to do your own settings. Half of which I don't even know WTF they are even talking about.

Too bad I can't do a free upload of the "Windows 10" to my older laptop which runs "Windows Vista Ultimate". It sucks but I'm not spending $119.00 on it either to do it. The only thing I keep it around for is pulling old project car and bike pictures off of it. I have a "Belkin transfer cable" but the operating systems weren't compatible from my old desktop to load to my new at the time laptop so I don't guess it would be compatible today either to try to upload from my "Vista" laptop to this now "Windows 10" running desktop either.

I'll probably have to spend another year or so trying to figure it all out again.

This bloody thing now times out when sitting idle with Pandora running. I notice because the Pandora starts skipping and clicking. I come to the monitor and see wonderful pictues of neat places and i have to log-in to microsoft again. Useless. I haven't found the time out clock yet to make a change. W-7 never did that kinda of corporate crap. It just feebly worked quietly and stoically.
    Ah, the good old days.
I have an older compac out in the garage and may bring that back in and drop ship this newer one with W 10 on corporate headquarters via drone from 10K feet. It otta make some kind impact.
I dunno, maybe we can sic the feds on them for terrorizing the computer world with this new attack on useful internet.

I've heard that there's major problems running anything non-Microsoft with Windows 10.
It appears that it keeps defaulting back to the Microsoft App, even if you don't want it to.

Sometimes I regret that I'm a "Certified Ethical Hacker" and also a "Certified Information Systems Security Professional"

Please get off XP or never connect it to the internet - oh bugger you have!

For the same reason you would not leave the keys in the bike in the middle of town with a sign on saying "easy to steel - just help yourself"

I use XP on my bought-it-used-cheap laptop. But then I only use the laptop to run the GS-911 program and I don't see anyone wanting to hack that.

This was a great update for me. I couldn't stand windows 8. I still miss widows 7 though. That was one of the best versions they ever made.

As an IT professional I couldn't resist and joined the Windows insider program and I have not had any major problems but for a driver problem with NVidia some months ago when an old driver was distributed which made it impossible to work on a dual monitor setup. But they solved that within a few days.

I've been on the 'M$=evil' side a long time (starting from the browser war) but I think the company has improved itself. Like for example: now with W10 you have to make the privacy choices directly after the installation instead of having to find them tucked somewhere deep in the control panel. All machines I installed it on run perfectly even the ones I upgraded instead of doing a a clean install.

And that (a clean install) is probaby what Nota has to do too: see http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html for instructions. A clean install only takes about half an hour.
