    Hi everyone,

I'm in between Garmin Zumo 660LM and TomTom Rider. Zumo is $350 in Amazon ( I think it's basic model which mean it doesn't have XM Reciever, otherwise its $540) and TomTom is $300. The new TomTom Rider 400 is also released in Revzilla ( $500) but its above my budget.

If anyone used TomTom Rider Version 5 , can you tell his/her valuable opinions.

    Thanks.

In my opinion is the Tomtom the better one if the user wants something that works instinctively and the Zumo has a little more options if you are a poweruser although the latest versions of the Tomtoms (I use an old one) have more options and better specs powerusers like.

If you use it like I do (no prepared routes, I just send it to a place and let the 'curvy roads' (not sure what's the name in English) option show me the nicest way to get there) I think the Tomtom is the better choice.

Agree with Karim although I'm a 'power user' myself so I have the latest Garmin Zumo (590LM)
Please note that both mentioned models are out of production. If they are available at all, I think a heavy discount should be part of the deal. I would not buy these for the 'old' shop price....

I use a Tomtom Rider V5 and have owned it for about 9 months now, very easy to use, simple to plug into a computer and upload routes, the windy road feature is excellent, user interface is nice and simple. and it's a nice heavy well made piece of kit that feels as if it will last a few years.

I used 3 TomTom One version 3 car GPS for a long time when I was a pizza delivery guy long time ago. I also had a chance use Garmin but re-routing was slow and user interface wasn't that friendly compare to Tomtom. Tomtom were all working great but here in United States, 90% of the riders are using Garmin!

    Tomtom Rider v 5 is $300 , newly released Tomtom Rider 400 $500 , Garmin Zumo 660LM $350 , Garmin zumo 350LM $390

What is the biggest difference between those Garmins? I googled it but it only tells the battery duration, and hardware specs.

I have used the TomTom Rider V3 for around a year and a half and it has worked extremely well. I found it to be better than my previous Garmin one. Planning to get a V5 now. The V3 costed me around 381,22 € but that was a fair price.
