Great choice. BMW got that one so right. Just too heavy for me I'm afraid. ENJOY

Congrats, the RS is a beautiful bike.

Hope the wind noise on the RS is better for you than it was on the GT.

Congrats Roger! Great choice, beautiful bike. I still have my '93 R1100RS and would have the new one in a flash if I was suddenly 20 years younger and 6" taller!

You're not the only convert on here Roger. She's a lovely beast.

Nice jump up in performance and ergonomics will be similar to your familiar GT. Enjoy.

Impressive looking bike Roger, I'm sure it will be superb-I've had a couple of boxers (r1100s & r1200gs) and they make effortless mile munchers, I'm going the other way now though & wanted to downsize for my commute.
    Regards

congrats roger. as you surely know there is a section dedicated to the boxer model and there are some discussions on the RS. one more reason to stay here with us.

p.s. I think that this thread must be posted in its proper section, so I move it but I leave a redirect for a little period.

Congrats, Roger. It seems the RS is a natural progression for quite a few of us F800 riders. With nearly 2500 miles on the clock, I'm loving mine.
Formerly on a Lahar Grey F800S, then after 47,000 happy miles it was traded in for a new Midnight Black F800ST, which was more or less converted back to an S. And now I'm on a brand new R1200RS, which is rather awesome! I'll still stick around if you'll have me, though, as my wife is now on the F800...
