In 2005 BMW introduced the K1200R. With 153 horsepower (claimed) and a wet weight of 550lbs. it was a potent performer. I purchased the first one in Iowa from Gina's BMW on the day it arrived at the dealership. Gina gave me this poster. The government of Japan was unhappy with this ad campaign and it was short lived. My ownership of the R was also short lived as I couldn't stop hammering the throttle. 😳😳😳😳

My K1200R came in a bland color called Slate Gray Metallic. I took it to a Chrysler dealer and had it painted Viper Red.
