When you get home (or to your next destination) post so we know everyone got home safely.

Tom (Commandohorn) and I made it back safely.

Great to see all of you that I met last year (albeit briefly!) again, and great to meet those of you I didn't!
FANTASTIC group of people, FANTASTIC location, FANTASTIC riding!!!!!

    Thanks Rob!

I made it home. Took superslabs due to iffy weather yet again and wanting a break from the rain already. That was a wonderful rally I had a lot of fun.

    Don and I are home.

We did get a short hour ride in before we left. When we started to load the bikes on the trailer, Don said I could ride and he'd trailer his bike. What a great guy! But I decided I'd enjoy his company instead of a ride and navigate in the truck instead of leading on the bike. And, of course, the first thing I did was take a wrong turn... Oh well... We loved the area and would like to go back so instead of taking 81 we took some back roads to check out a route.

We both had a great time and agree with Brendan - FANTASTIC group of people, FANTASTIC location and FANTASTIC riding! We don't, however, share his disappointment that Mike doesn't look like his avatar ...

Made it in around 5:30 today as well. Took the backroads of WV through part of MD and the superslab the rest of the way.

It was great to meet you all - I had a great time. Those are some great roads in the area and I looking forward to visiting again now that I know the area better.

    Will post some pics tomorrow.

Left Boyer before the frogs started to mate and rolled in my Muscatine Iowa driveway at 7:00PM. 850 miles without a drop of rain. The rally was great and the rally goers were greater. Will be there next year, come rain or shine. West Virginia does have sun, right?

Pops and I made it home around 1:30-2:00pm this afternoon. Once again, I'm just tickled by how well everything turned out.

Thanks again to those who showed up. I had a really fantastic time.

I started out early, planning to get home early, using WV39 to go straight to I-81/64 and north. But only a few miles of super-slab convinced me I was wrong, and I veered east to continue on the beautiful (if not slow) Skyline Drive. Then from Front Royal VA to White Post VA for a rack of ribs from Mr. B's BBQ. Then back into WV and it's eastern panhandle to Shepardstown WV for oysters and near beer, and finally via Sharpsburg, Boonsboro and Hagerstown MD, I hopped back onto I-81 for the short jaunt to Carlisle, PA.

I'm back. I think I need a new rear tire.

I took 219 South with the filthy-soiled bike in the back of my truck, held in place with EIGHT tie-downs. Pic later in another post. Those 8 straps allowed my 4 cylinder Frontier 2WD to take those 25 MPH hairpins at 40 with no worries or loss of precious, hard earned momentum. Somehow it's just not the same as doing it at 50+ on the bike.

When I left at 7:48AM Sunday I met only 9 on-coming vehicles in the first 26 miles of route 219's twisty mountain roads. I got home at 5:30PM Sunday after 473 miles without a single traffic backup or missed turn. Thank you Zumo450. Truck got just a tick over 30MPG (corrected odometer) with coasting the huge mile+ downhills & easy speed limit cruising.

I had a great time riding with FredRydr Thursday evening thru Saturday nite. The decisions we/he made all turned out really well. I got wet - - - - with no rain gear ownership - - - - but everything slowly dried out just riding. The pleasant camaraderie at the Saturday nite dinner can mostly be attributed to our Rotax powered F800 twins . . . . . . except for Windy and his Boxer twin. That big guy just didn't fit in.

I made it to Rockford last night around 8:00PM. I ran into lots of cold rain after Cranberry, PA., but it was a nice ride home. What a great group of people and what a fantastic location.

Thanks for setting this up, Rob, and thank you Mike for leading us SANELY and safely to Elk River.

Meeting everyone was a great pleasure. 'Ride Safe' so we can do it again next year!

I made it home,to Ellijay,GA about 9:00 PM. Itook the senic route. South on28/92 until 39,headed eastand then south on US220 to Roanoke, where i got on I-81 south. I had about enough of that shortly after switching to I-26 east. I exited at Gray,TN(site of BMWMOA Rally) heading sw on Tn75 until it runs into US321,which took me to Gatlinburg,TN. Luckily I escaped, getting on to US441,what a beautiful ride through the Great Smokies park and onto Cherokee,NC then it seems like a short run toBryson city,Andrews,Murphy and home. I had a great time, and once again Rob did an outstanding job. It really is so much fun meeting and talking with the folks on this forum, even if I traded my F800 for a R1100S boxercup replika. I still want a sunset yellow F800S. Glad you guy's made it to the New River Gorge, that was cool wasn't it. 'Til next time, ride safely

Sorry for the late check in. I made it home late Wednesday afternoon. Brendan and Tom thanks for the escort to 77. (Sorry I didn't know the toll went up to $2). After my Peebles OH visit, I took US52 home through WV and then kept to the interstates. No rain, until I got back in Florida. I really had a great time and hope to see everyone again at the 2010 Eastern US F800 Riders Rally.
