Attended a BMW club meeting this evening and got a line on 2004 Boxer Cup Prep with 16,000 miles that might be for sale. I worked at the dealership when this bike was originally sold and it's a one owner gem. If it is offered for sale, I'll be back to 2 bikes.

The R1100s was one of the two bikes that I regret I didn't buy when they came out.

I had an '02 S and always regretted selling it. Was, and is, my favorite boxer.

I've ridden an 1100 that a friend has. Really nice bike but those low miles mean it isn't something that you jump on a go for an all day ride repeatedly, like some Ducati's.
Nice bit of moto art though.

I put 16k on my S in one year. One of the most comfortable long distance bikes I've owned.

My friends 1100 got a lot of miles commuting to work 40-50 miles each way.
He didn't want to go on out of state runs though.

I rode mine to Birmingham Alabama, took the saddlebags off and rode a track day at Barber Motorsports. My only additions to the bike were bar backs and a Sargent seat.

Well I'm currently riding a r9t racer, I listened to all the warnings that if I rode the bike more then a mile I would end up in wheelchair for the rest of my life.... well 2000 miles in my back as never felt better!
Nick Sanders rode a R1 Yamaha around the world and will explain to anyone who will listen that the sports bike riding position is the natural one NOT the adventure bike spine in a line with all weight on one point.
Obviously taking the racer into town is hardwork but I don't want to ride it there.
Surely the f800s must have been the perfect compromise riding positions.

I sat on a R9T Racer at my local BMW dealer. I thought it wasn't too bad, even for an old fella like me. Very similar seating position to my Guzzi Le Mans which I used to do big miles on. I was nearly 20 years younger though.
