I totally understand. I'm heading out over the North Cascade Highway tomorrow. High mountain passes, just recently cleared from avalanches that left 60 feet of snow over the road. I'm digging out my electric heated gear for the trip.

But...I have sunny weather coming soon.

To be fair Chris, it doesn't get too cold here on the coast. We still get 15-18C days.

Our max temp, in VIC, on Saturday was lower than the min temps in the top half of Aus. Ahh, the joys of living in Victoria.

April has been glorious. Big blue skies and 24 degC days. April (autumn here) has always been my favourite month. Warm days and cooler nights. Perfect riding weather.

Autumn and spring are the seasons I oil my leathers.

Nothing much to comment on here.

Cold is defined: - The lack of heat.
What intellectual thought that one up.
At least it only lasts 3-4 months.

Just got back from a weekend trip over the N Cascades, overnighter in Winthrop, then return via southern route. Not that cold either way. Ran into some flurries on E side of Hwy 20 coming into Winthrop, but not bad.
Be aware of deer! My buddy hit a deer within 5 mins of leaving Winthrop Sun morning (0700). Ruined the bike and day (and the deer!). But he kept upright and walked away fine. Incredible that he did given he was doing 60 mph and the deer was about 120 lbs and he hit direct on the side of the deer. BMW RT1200 limped back to Winthrop and after 9 hr wait, towed back to Seattle.

Rick, I was just over the North Cascades Highway on Monday. Met a friend over in Twisp and then headed back the same way.

Where do you live? I'm over in Lynnwood.

Sounds like some day rides in the future. I'm down in the Auburn Wa area and Daboo and I do a few every year. Maybe a Hy 101 loop with a layover in Forks or Aberdeen?
