In the good ole USA we change our clocks twice a year. This is my clock changing list. Can anyone top it?1 in the kitchen
    1 in the living room
    1 in the bedroom
    1 sound system
    1 microwave
    1 stove
    1 in the Jeep
    1 in the GT
    3 in bicycles
    ----
11 in total. Why do I have so many clocks?

I would add to your list:
-1 in each bedroom (4 in my home)
-1 in each bathroom (3 in my home)
-1 in each car (2 in my garage)
-2 solar clocks (not sure why?)
    -1 on the laptop
-1 on the phone in my pocket

This is why I quit wearing a watch when I retired from the US Army … I realized I was always within sight of a timepiece of some kind, and I did not need another one on my wrist. I have never regretted it.

Do you have to move the sun back one hour for the solar clocks?

The UK has the same hour change.

    Phone automatically changes
    Laptops all automatically change
The Good Lady's car automatically changes
No clocks in any of the bedrooms, alarms if needed are set on the phone
1 in the kitchen which my wife always gets me to change as it's mounted on the wall a little to high for her to reach unaided.
1 in the oven which my wife changes because I have as little to do with cooking as possible and changing the clock could be the thin end of the wedge
4 pocket watches (don't have a wrist watch) any of which I may be using will be changed but then that's part of the joy of mechanical watches, the daily winding and setting the time every so often against a far better, but soulless, measure of the passage of time. A very meditative process I find.

So that leaves the bikes which oddly enough I tend to just leave. I don't have a preference for winter or summer time just set them when I have to and leave. I think this was set in stone with the first bike I owned with a clock an R80 RT, it was actually quite a contortion to get your had behind the clock to set it so just tended to leave it.

Apart from all the domestic clocks, timers and heating controls, I've 5 in various stages of disrepair awaiting attention so I guess they may not count.

Another 3 which I repaired last month in the process of being regulated.

Another just finished servicing and re-bushing currently on the bench running and awaiting recasing. (See attached).

Take up less space than bikes and certainly more comfortable than being sat out in a cold garage trying to fix an old nail of a bike on a winter's evening.

Won't count the watches as the wife may read this and she's not forgiven me yet for the clock that strikes the quarter hour 24/7 that I repaired last winter.[emoji15]

I have a number of clocks in the house that are incredibly accurate twice a day. I never set them.

As for most of the others, there are some I know will not change. But for the most part, I simply wait to see what doesn't change the next morning.

I have only one wrist watch (a very cheap Swatch, white dial with black numbers, easy to see), I have not any clock at home, last one I had was before to buy my first mobile phone, I don't remember how many years ago.

... sorry, actually there is a clock in the microwave oven, but I use it only to see if the numbers displayed have some sort of relation (eg 1551 or 1212, etc, specular numbers are my favorite), to know what time it is I look my wrist watch or the iPhone.

My wife and my bedside alarm clocks automagically update. As do our phones, fitness band. My wife's car updates automagically too.

    What I need to update:

    (1)Stove
    (1) Microwave
    (1) Mantle clock
    (1) Bathroom clock
    (5) Motorcycles - ST, Sertao, GSX, two on Spyder
    (1) Travel alarm clock
    (3) digital/electronic watches
    (1) automobile clocks
    (1) Garage wall clock
    (1) Coffee maker

So that makes 16. Never really thought about it. Still worth it for DST though.

So, I am thinking … what does it say that, of all the timepieces in our lives, the most expensive ones tend to be in/on our vehicles? And, at least in my case, those are the only ones that DO NOT reset themselves automatically for DST. Why is that? Why do we put up with that? I am thinking that surely a $30k automobile (or comparable bike) should have a clock that resets itself automatically. All my cheap clocks and radios do that.

And why does every vehicle use a different system to reset their clocks?. Both of my BMWs use different ways to reset the time. You have to push and hold a single button on the dash of my F650GS, but on my R1200RS I have to fight my way through a long menu and then scroll through a sub-menu to reset the time. Then when I check again, it didn't reset, but still shows the previous time. After going through the procedure a few more times, I finally did something right and it permanently changed. But now my battery needed to be recharged. On my Yamaha, I have to turn on the ignition and push two buttons simultaneously, then use one button or the other to change the clock digits. My Zero requires pushing two buttons on the dash, after holding one to get the display flashing. All of my motorcycles need the ignition to be turned on. However, the easiest to change is the clock on my 1999 Saturn. With the ignition off, I push the radio tuning button and then the scan button at the same time to change the clock numbers. Pushing the scan button one way changes the hour and pushing it the other way changes the minutes. Who can remember all of this stuff, anyway? For me, I wish it stayed "Standard Time" all year long.

And I might add that I have no idea how to reset the time for the bicycle computer that I installed on my Royal Enfield that gives a more accurate idea of my true speed than reading than the stock speedometer. Accurate speed, inaccurate time.

One oddity is that we remodeled the kitchen two years ago. We purchased a GE gas oven and matching microwave.

The microwave has a button to set the clock time but it will not display the clock like most microwaves. GE said it is to meet Energy Star certification. However the oven has a clock which is always displayed. But the display is low just above the oven door so one needs to step several feet back to see it.

If the clock were up high on the microwave we could see from anywhere in the room.

This is a totally different thought in response to the thread title, "If I Could Turn Back Time". Ignore it completely, if you want.

But if I could turn back the time, I'd spend less time working and more time with my kids while they were young. We'd have made ends meet without all the overtime, but I can never get those moments back.

My note on back of the WWVB clock says the battery was installed in 2016. A Duracell Quantum AA. I think I am impressed.

Cold and foggy, here. I think I heard that it might be a Friday, but I am not sure about that.

Whatever your time is, it is time for a drink. All that clocking on and off, too much time on your hands

Which system are you referring to? And why are you making random comments on threads that haven't been active for some time? It would be helpful if you would include your first name and where you live in your profile.

Richard, yup I agree with you here. I have noticed this guy has posted elsewhere with comments not according to the thread. This leaves me to wonder is he an unwanted poster here..

I am giving him some rope to see if he hangs himself or will make something useful out of it. He made one other post on another thread that seemed reasonable. I don't have very many powers, but I can delete spam when it appears and dump the post into the Trash Can if need be to clear the thread.

He's not a threat yet. I just noticed him on another older thread. Kinda busy in 17 hours or maybe wanting acceptance?
