Just brought a new f800gt se bike fully loaded got almost everthing including a BMW motorrad street nav.
My part ex had a Garmin Zumo 390 and I believe these products are one and the same.
Obviously mine had a few addresses stored bike shops / relations etc. So I suggested to the dealership that I keep mine and he keeps is, this is a simple unit two brass pins meet up with two small plates on nav, I'm sure there are two wires one black one red. Obviously the nav 4/5/6 are multi pin and tell you lots of info.
Both navs were professionally installed by BMW tech's.
So why wouldn't it work, would not power up nothing just a blank screen. Took a ride back to dealership swapped units and both work perfect.

Could it have been low charge in your existing Zumo when you tried originally?

Personally I'd have taken the new Zumo and transferred your details across but understand your decision.

Ride safely and enjoy your new bike.

I think I know why this sat nav would not work.
But first question first can any owners of the SE specification model came with sat nav ready i.e. cradle fitted at factory?
Whilst fitting my optimate lead a few days back I noticed the wiring for Sat nav is ultra simple just to wires going to a block connecter next to battery.
My sat nav was purchased from halfords And the wiring contained to black box's that round one that you get on lap tops and the oblong one (maybe a transformer) so I suspect I was trying to do something that had already been done at factory.

I have no clue what prevented the swap. I was just intrigued by the word BAMBOOZLED . . . . .

Do you know the definition of bamboozle? The sound you hear when you strike your boozle.
