By this time and maybe sometime before ,it is obvious to the world that some portion of Americans, the ones still backing Trump are a special type. I for one never thought ignorance was so rampant in such a mind boggling cultist way. This to me is the worst part of the whole mess today. I find it deeply troubling that some people are so disconnected and unwilling to see reality as it is. They appear more like programed machines than human beings. They are products of a deeper malaise infecting this country.

It's nice to know how you really feel. Not about President Trump, but about the members of this forum. If roughly half the country voted for President Trump at the last election, then by extension, roughly half the members of this forum also voted for President Trump.

So just because you can say what you like here in the "Grown-up Discussion" area...do you think people who read it forget what you feel about them in the rest of the forum? To use your words, half the forum members are "ignorant". "cultist". "unwilling to see reality" "like programmed machines" and not "human beings". They are part of a "deeper malaise infecting the country"???

    Think about it.

I have and so has the rest of the world. Open up a pro Trump thread and give the rest of the members that choose freely to be in this section some idea of why anyone would support trump. List quotes of inspiration that will go down in history. Expound upon his many accomplishments while in office. It is the place to do so, be my guest. I would be very interested to take it all in and please give me your data on who is the half, please include all the other nations and Languages involved on the site

Your avatar is outside the section reserved for political comment. Everyone can see it whether they want to or not.

Jeff Flake, senator from Arizona resigns today because he can no longer support the GOP and the President.

    Here is an inspirational quote . . . . .

“I did try and f**k her. She was married… I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn't get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony tits and everything... I've got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful. I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything.”

The video was recorded in September 2005 in the NBC Studios parking lot while Trump was preparing to appear in an episode of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives. Access Hollywood,[3] a syndicated entertainment news program owned by NBCUniversal,[4] conducted a behind-the-scenes interview with Trump about the guest appearance in which Trump and Bush arrived in a tour bus for the Access Across America series of segments produced in commemoration of the program's 10th season. It features audio of Trump talking with Billy Bush, then co-anchor of Access Hollywood, on a bus embellished with the show's name. Trump and Bush were wearing microphones, which recorded their casual conversation. Trump was later described as "apparently aware at the time that he was being recorded by a TV program".[5][6]

By your logic, roughly half of the members of this forum didn't vote for, nor support, trump. How do you think they feel about your very political avatar invading every area of this forum? You move posts you feel are political, because they don't belong in other areas. Think about it.

Very unlikely. I like many members of this forum had no opportunity to vote either for or against the current President of the USA.

    Me either.

This is a forum with international coverage, based on ownership or interest in a family of German motorcycles.

I don't have to wear an idiot hat saying "Lets make America Grate Again" and I think I am entitled to express my opinion based on my understanding of a topic.

Please make sure moderators display at least a modicum of intelligence, or at least get them a map that shows stuff outside the big, beautiful wall.

"On Monday, Donald Trump wondered aloud on Twitter why on earth his administration should be sending any funds to blue states run by Democrats. He claims that these states did a poor job of managing their funds, but that same fact didn't stop him from bailing out corporations. But there is something more sinister at play here."

It is hypocritical to support a moron in office when he attacks more than half the people in this country. Blue states provide the majority of funds , while the red states suck up the most percentage.

He is a son of a Mitch.

I started this thread and titled it "WARNING - Contains Political Content That May Offend" Yet people voluntarily enter this thread and post that they were offended. I have to wonder what they do when they see the sign "Wet Paint - Do Not Touch"

True. It is an international forum. But if you look, there's no German threads in this section, and no German entries in any of these political discussions. I don't see any French posts either. Or Italian posts. Are they not affected as much as the English and Australians are? Many of them speak English too, so the opportunity is there for them to post...but they don't.

Which begs the question...why do you care? Or is it because you're like seventh graders who like to gang up on someone? They know it is wrong, but they dismiss that so long as they aren't the ones to be picked on.

If someone on the forum who was a US citizen were to start dragging the British government's leaders...and especially the Queen and the royal family into the sewer...you'd probably at some point say to back off. It's none of our business. And you'd be right.

The Australians aren't immune to political controversy either. From The Diplomat:
Long before Scott Morrison won the job as Australia’s prime minister, he was offered advice on leadership that could very well come to be seen as a defining feature of his foreign policy.Assuming, that is, he stays around long enough to leave a meaningful legacy.
After August, when the latest round of political bloodletting broke out, the record now stands at six changes in Australia’s top job inside a turbulent decade, and Morrison must face the uncertainty of another national election within the year.
I'd venture to say that if the world's eyes were to be turned down south to your own government, there would be plenty of fodder for putting down whoever was in office at the time. In fact, I'm surprised there isn't more even now.

Just look at this picture from London's Daily Mail and the tweets that follow.

Scott Morrison is best of mates with President Trump? No way. That would be like saying President Trump is doing things right and is easy to get along with. Or it means Scott Morrison is just as dumb, illiterate, crazy, etc. as President Trump is. One can't be wonderful while the other is despicable...not if they are "best of mates".

So I'll repeat my question. Why do you care? What business is it of yours to be offended so righteously about something that happens on the other side of the world from you...when you have your own problems at home?

From Daboo "If someone on the forum who was a US citizen were to start dragging the British government's leaders...and especially the Queen and the royal family into the sewer...you'd probably at some point say to back off. It's ........"

Her Majesty has never said, or ever put herself in a position to be ridiculed but our leaders are often ridiculed in the press. It's the British way - taking the piss. I found the Monty Python film "The life of Brian" hilarious and I never once thought they were taking the piss out of Jesus, it was the high-minded prats who got upset - it was satire, again a British thing. I'm quite happy to laugh at myself if I'm doing something daft.

You made a wholly incorrect statement. I don't believe pointing that out, in what I felt was a civilized posts, warrants being accused of bullying neither does it give any insight into my political leanings.

America, love it or leave it....

"That’s a saying that was common on bumper stickers during the Vietnam War, especially during the Nixon years. It had little or nothing to do with love of country, and everything to do with the type of phony patriotism that is still prevalent among some groups today. The words are filled with irony. America is a land of free expression, so people have a right to say whatever is on their minds, even statements that imply some people ought to shut up and leave the country."- Ken Natco

As far as Australia goes, Scomo (what other country would be able to use a nickname for a leader and get away with it, USA could use "Don'T" maybe) is doing a good job with Covid 19. Yes, he wants to get the country going again, but he doesn't want to put lives at risk to do it. As he says, we're in it for the long run. We are going through a'gently, gently'approach to restarting the economy. It could be a long time before our borders are open again, except for maybe NZ, due to the way this is all being handled in some other countries. We are truely "the lucky country" this time around. Oh, we have economists and health officials working on this with the government and big business is assisting with the fight anyway they can. One is spending millions to arrange and pay for special flights to get medical supplies flown in from overseas, to assist in the fight, go Twiggy

    Chris
It must be grate to be able to wander about misreading everything. Like Trump and the disinfectant. DIS-IN-FECK-tant he likes to call it.

Chris, in trying to make some sort of point you failed. Morrison tweeted about Australia (that's a country outside of Trump's Wall. Big, beautiful wall. Or fence) and the US (that's a country, or at least a united group of states, I'll leave that up to you to define).

He tweeted "Australia & the US are best of mates.." I don't think he said that 'Scott Morrison is best of mates with President Trump' as you so erroneously fake news posted. Read, think then post. Read again just to make sure.

Now when you ask "So I'll repeat my question. Why do I care?" I'll answer below:

I care because as an Australian I do feel like I am mates with Americans. We've been together through lots of things, enjoy some cultural commonalities and both speak roughly the same language. Oz may be on the other side of the world, righteous or not, but we are influenced greatly by the flapping that goes on from where y'alls come from.

And also, with one million plus COVID-19 cases and over 50 thousand deaths in the US it directly affects humanity (just close your eyes, let hope well up in your heart and think of Jesus) as the epicentre for COVID-19 incompetence. We're close to zero down here. Real close. If we can achieve that we can go back to normal, or at least the new normal, inside Australia. I'm sure the Morrison/Trump discussion touched on stuff like that.

Its not the sniffles, and anybody wearing a hat that celebrates that buffoon who is the single individual responsible for more cases of COVID than anyone else on the planet (or is it just the 'flu oh super brain?) needs to own their decision and celebrate the consequences.

    @Chris
I don't even dream to criticize the administration of USA, and/or other people's religious beliefs, but threads related to coronavirus are interesting to me, though I''m not american, that being said, almost everything that the president of USA says and does, (Trump, Obama, Bush, ... and so on) has consequences on the whole world, the same I can say about China.
I can only say that our presidents, prime ministers, leaders... will be judged by history. From my point of view, human lives are first (yes, even lives of people I don't like), then economy follows. Basing on news that arrive on this side of the pond, I have the impression that in USA you are more worried about economy, here in europe it's the opposite (with different shades). Different visions of the world, I'd say. Anyway this pandemic is everyone business, and it's a pity (though it's fun for me, my typical gross italian sense of hunour) that things are meant to attack each other, or felt as offences. When people all around europe laughed on belusconi (who I didn't vote), I was angry with him and his behaviour, not with the ones who laughed at me telling me "italy, berlusconi, third world"

Yes Gunther, Belusconi seemed to come from a similar mould, liked the women, the difference was he was perhaps seen as a "love able rogue"! I can't remember Italians getting on their high horse when the foreign media attacked him. And as you say, this is everyone's business so we are all allowed a view even if it does cross borders if it has an impact on our life.......... or death.
