Seriously talking, if I were you... I stayed at home, I can bet you have plenty of books, music, movies, there's cooking, drinking, get drunk, you can take care of your motorcycle, wash everything, than wash it again, then wash yourself, than wash your bike, then start it all over again

Here is a hot tip for you: My daughter just bought 24 rolls (2K sheets per roll) of toilet paper from Office Depot. She got free shipping to her home and 15% off. And who says buying toilet paper can't be done without spending hours standing in line at Costco?

In the latest EU news: European countries have locked down their borders and in France, everyone has been locked into their homes and can't leave without official written approval from the government, the form for which can be downloaded from the internet and then filled out by the resident who owns a dog who needs to take a shit on someone's lawn - right now. This is going to cut down the number of "yellow shirt" protesters on the streets of Paris. Not sure if it will affect farmer tractor road-blocking protest parades, though.

Oh yes. One other thing! Our California State Legislature has just shut down and also is self-immobilizing themselves at home for at least the next three weeks. The have given the Governor authority to spend as much of the state's budget as he wants during the "crisis".

According to news reports this morning the way the public in Oregon and Los Angeles are dealing with the virus crisis is not to buy toilet paper, but instead to stock up on guns and ammo. Sales are going off the charts! A well-armed American is a safe America and will surely make us Great Again. Now we can go to Costco to buy toilet paper and be sure that no one will take it from us.

This quarantine has been full of discoveries. I discovered that I own a box of Swiffer Dusters.

I am beginning to wonder if Trump is beginning to think that he can't Bullshit his way through this..... Then again maybe not.

The quarantine is not tedious at home but why does one box of rice contain 12,543 grains and another box has 12,957?

Thinking about the roads - it should be much safer with all the idiots off the streets - but maybe not. The law will have nothing better to do but watch out for law-breaking bikers!

It looks like B. Johnson has changed (partially) his mind about covid19 and "flock effect" (is this the correct english term?).
I was just considering the idea he previously had from a "selfish" point of view (mine point of view):
supposing that "flock effect" works, we'd have millions of british people immune from the virus, who could go on holiday, say in Spain, or come to Italy, and spread the infection again in the rest of Europe, where protective measures were taken, and where no real immunity is, at least not until the vaccine is ready... I'm not happy with that...
Theoretically, having UK got out from EU, british visitors should have a passaport to travel all around Europe? Should they be quarantined for a couple of weeks in Marbella or in Chiantishire?
And what about border between Eire and Norther Ireland? There's no hard border, as far as I know, so people can move from one side to the other, from EU to UK, just walking... Oxitotl, you closed the pubs, they didn't, and you are at risk of getting the virus anyway...

Don't worry, 3 weeks are not all this tragedy, I can bet you prefere3 weeks at home counting rice grains, than 3 weeks at hospital with a hose down your throat , and maybe a second one... no, I can't tell you

My plan is to self-quarantine myself on my motorcycle. Seems like a good idea to me.

The name game and why it is wrong....Trump is trying to get people to talk about his language to divert from his failings.

Difficult situation here in Italy, and becoming so in the rest of EU, no one laughs anymore now.
A few days ago I thought this seems like a test for all of us, the countries we're living in, the national health systems, and, here in EU, for cohesion between countries in case of danger.
At first, it looked like an "italian problem", being the italians incapable to confront with a simple problem, now, unluckily, Spain, France, Germany are following us in all this.
Viruses can't be stopped by borders, and I think in the future we could see something which could be even worse. I mean, China, India, EU are all territories where people live gathered and where workers are crammed in small spaces, and this is a wonderful chance for pathogens to reproduce. If airplanes will continue to carry people all around the world in few hours, nothing can prevent another pandemic.
This leads me to consider this a chance too, a chance to improve what could be done in cases this, for instance, in Italy surgical masks are not produced, and also few breathers are produced here, this has to change.
I've also noticed a big difference between EU (and even China, which I don't consider a real democracy) and the english speaking world, USA and UK (don't know about Australia and New Zeland): here governments tend to care about people, business comes after that, in USA/UK seems to be the opposite. In general, both system work, but in case of an epidemic, we've noticed that ill people must be cured, you can't leave a homeless (maybe infected) laying on the streetonly because he/she hasn't an insurance, and so on...
A confrontation between two opposite thoughts and systems, what do you guys think about?

I find it odd that I haven't heard a peep regarding what is going on in Asian countries (other than China, of course). You would think those countries would be a real mess. However, I have heard that everything is just fine in Japan - not that I believe that, especially after the Princess cruise ship disaster.

No news from Japan, so far. About South Korea, I don't know how many tests have been performed, but the epidemic seems to be under control.
    No news either from Iran.
Apparently, the biggest disaster is here in Italy, due mainly of the average age of population, and relating chronical illnesses

Here is what my newspaper said about Iran and Brazil yesterday. (Pulled out of the recycling bin.) Sorry about the picture not being upright. It looks fine in my computer files.

Same here. As soon as the shelter-in-place order was issued in my county, the hangup calls started coming thick and fast. Sometimes within 5 minutes of each other. They have really been keeping my poor message machine busy. But they always hang up as soon as the hear the "beep". Except for my local state representative, she leaves a robo-message every few days asking me to join her town hall mass telephone call to discuss the virus outbreak. No thanks I get enough of that here.
