In my 50-something year life I have seen the West Coast get much drier and definitely hotter. And considering how a wildfire Fire Chief here just said, “The trees in the forest are drier that the lumber sold at Lowes,” plus all the dead trees I see now in our beautiful forests, plus approx. 15-20% of all of our “fireproof” Mountain Redwoods (Giant Sequoias) burned up in the last 12 months I would say something unnatural is definitely happening to our climate. But let’s just listen to big industry and their supporters and think there is nothing we can do.

Around 1980 it was much colder where I live 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean, just south of San Francisco. There was one winter where the temperature dropped to 19 degrees F for three days, which was kind of tough on some of my jade plants, as well as my heating bill. See attached the photo of the thermometer outside my kitchen window. For the past 20 years it has rarely dropped below 40 degrees on that same thermometer at any time during the winter. So it is definitely getting to be a hot time in the old town lately.
