I consider myself to be a Christian, and have worked with people of all sorts of followings. I enjoy finding out about their beliefs, so long as they don't try to push them onto me

As I've always said it would be a sad old world if we all thought the same. The diversity of views and beliefs is what keeps humans talking - oh and the weather, oh - politics.............

Amen to that . . . .

I: Do not condemn people on the basis of their ethnicity or color.
II: Do not ever use people as private property.
III: Despise those who use violence or the threat of it in sexual relations.
IV: Hide your face and weep if you dare to harm a child.
V: Do not condemn people for their inborn nature.
VI: Be aware that you too are an animal and dependent on the web of nature, and think and act accordingly.
VII: Do not imagine that you can escape judgment if you rob people with a false prospectus rather than with a knife.
VIII: Turn off that fucking cell phone.
IX: Denounce all jihadists and crusaders for what they are: psychopathic criminals with ugly delusions.
X: Be willing to renounce any god or any religion if any holy commandments should contradict any of the above.

Yup, I split a thread. It's one of the functions of any admin or moderator. When a topic is going off-topic, you can either let it continue down some other direction, split the topic. I suppose you could also delete the post, but why? Someone thought it worthwhile.
As you can see by the way the responses went, it was the right thing to do. I was hoping for a thread that would give people reading it hope. All that I see here is disdain for any idea that would've been confined to that thread alone.
You're wrong about one thing, Bill. I'm not a coward. But I am leaving.
All of you could've at least been more open about who you were accusing and dissing.

This your post from 10hrs ago:
"There's another web page that Guido got me access to, but it doesn't give me any clues. If you want to know who did it, I'm sure HalfPint can tell you. Seeing as at least one of the threads was started by me...I can guarantee you that I did not close it.
There's been weird things going on with the forum software on some other threads, so I'm betting it is just another example of that. Any of the mods can close or reopen a thread.
Chris"
I'm confused!

I would like to point out that more than once a thread has shut itself down, apparently due to technical reasons. And then was eventually reopened by HalfPint.

This news is a bit late, as Daboo told me via PM that emphatically had no hand in closing thread but felt that we'd pointed the finger at him and told me he had already taken 10 steps back form the forum - Daboo -you have been vindicated, however I don't think that anyone mentioned any names. It's only just come to light - to us plebs - there are various levels of Moderator, you learn something every day.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds declared Thursday, April 9th, as a "Day of Prayer" in Iowa. She urged Iowans to "unite in prayer" in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. No shelter in place order, just pray.

That ought to solve the problem, OK. Just like Arkansas. We don't need no stink'n virus laws in our state, we will do whatever we want, just pray and it it will go away. Let the chips fall where they may. After all, look how well praying worked during the time of the Black Death during the Middle Ages.

Daboo, while I suspect we could not disagree more on subjects of politics and religion, I (almost) always enjoy your posts.
Especially the rally & riding stories & photos you send. Thanks for that.
This subject reminds me of a radio program I used to listen to on my way to work in late 80s & early 90s at 6am every day.
I think it was called Counter Point. Ted Kennedy & Alan Simpson would debate & argue for a few minutes, then say something like talk to you tomorrow, the other would say the same & it sounded then like the really liked each other.
Go ahead & rant on anything you want, as it appears everybody is allowed to.
I hope you are not leaving for good.
Cheers
Good Friday here, so you're a bit behind the times again, Phil.
