Just asking how many have the original F 800 patch picked up at the Colorado gathering in 2009? I have one stitched to my riding suit and have one more laying around in my closet. I expect this to be a small thread....

Attended the 2009 Eastern Rally in West Virginia. Didn't get a patch but had a great time.

Yes, it does indeed. Nice shot!

To give some perspective on my end of the trip. I rode in a week earlier and stuffed the bike into a tiny Uhaul locker located in the deepest part of the building. Then flew to Dayton, Ohio to be picked up by my best friend. The occasion was his daughter's wedding to be held in an old time speakeasy in Chicago. I had the fedora sent ahead for the wedding and the party afterward. I dressed in period clothing and looked the part. The Fedora ended up being the prop for many pictures. All the other guests had to drink from the well. Me, I had full range to drink any scotch I wanted. Oban, Talisker, 16 year old Lagavulin was visited several times or more.

From there I flew back and gathered up the bike and found my room at the motel.

For better or worst I was the one who helped convince Rob to make the Grand Junction the meeting spot.

I camped up on Colorado National Monument before heading back.

I love that area. A day trip while camped there is over Grand Mesa too. Not too much shabby about anywhere in Colorado.

Wow, sounds like you folks had fun. We here in the UK also had a little of the action. Rob came over here, we all met up at the Silver Ball Cafe near Royston. I have photos. can any of you folks recognise any of these fellers, there should be one.

Is that Ross Mulder in the first picture wearing a the black ball cap and in the last picture? Of course it is... I got to have lunch in London with Ross when I first visited The UK. I remember you guys discussing Rob taking off and going in the wrong direction on the correct (right) side of the road.

Side note: Steve Parson ( Stainman) visited me in Oregon some ten years ago. We rode around 1500 miles in Oregon before he headed back. I have since visited Steve twice. The first time is when I met up with Ross. I hope to some day have Steve over again.

I had my Senior year at the tiny school in Ouray. My drivers Ed class had us driving over the Million Dollar Highway. Not a pleasant experience having to sit in the back while a nervous little runt was trying to navigate the road. I had already thousands of miles of driving as my family traveled back and forth to Colorado. Later my first car was a FIAT 850 Spider. I love the roads out there.....The Pirelli's on the FIAT didn't last long....

After visiting Steve in the Black Country. My wife and I traveled the UK south to take a ferry over to France and visit another friend I met here on the Forum.

Theirry at the time had a French/Irish Pub in Daoulas, Brittainy.

I have also visited a member of the Forum in Greece a few years later. So I'd say S and the Forum has been good to me.

Yup that is Ross, also in the same pic is Rob, Skid is wearing the green top, Pete99 far left, I don't think PatH is in those pics. That was a great day, lovely riding with fellow F800 guy's, Skid leading and I think PatH was tail end. And your correct Rob did on the odd occasion wonder over, he hired a Honda Trans Alp, could not hire an F800.

Met Rob and his dad at the 2009 Rally. Both salt of,the earth people and fun to be around. This has been a great trip back in time.

I attended the Cass WV Rally and the one at Fontana/Deals Gap. I had a great time at both. Great roads and met some wonderful people. Rob and his dad were indeed gracious hosts and the events were well planned. Rob's dad was one of the funniest people I have met. He was telling stories one evening and I recall my stomach literally hurting from laughing so much.

I attached a photo of a patch I picked up at one of the rallies. Not an event-specific patch but a club patch. I also have a t-shirt kicking around somewhere from one of the rallies. Fontana IIRC. It has a logo design with a bear and the twin pistons and connecting rod of our F8s. I remember folks teasing Rob that the design looked like a bear sniffing pistons.

A few shots from the Fontana / Deals Gap Rally. Was that 2010 if Cass was 2009?

Fontana was 2010. Was planning to go but was waylayed by Murphys Law. 2009 was a blast and my t-shirt eventually disintegrated.
