If you are looking for a sporty bike with too much of everything, including price and gadgets, here is the motorcycle for you. And what is it with BMW and seats.

I test rode one before settling on my F900XR. The only thing I miss is the dynamic ESA on the forks. I have to imagine that at some point the traffic is going to return to the bay area and at that point the S1000 will be too much of a PIA to deal with in traffic. I test rode it in Feb when there were still cars on the road it wasn't fun unless you had empty road in front of you. Slow bike fast, fast bike slow and all that. The insurance was also unrealistic, I was looking at something like $2700/year to add it to my policy. My last two bikes were less than $600 combined.

I'm glad this bike and others like it are made and available to people to enjoy.
I was always a fan of Britain's V bombers Victor / valiant and Vulcan in fact I Just love awesome engineering but......
WTF, did a bike swop with brother in law recently I jumped on his s1000xr and he took my f800gt.
Is bike is unbelievable no overtake as to be planned even in top gear BANG and you have overtaken a line of vehicles. When I handed it back I was truly shocked and amazed ( he thought the f800 was a very nice balanced bike) people say you get used to power and eventually even bored and look for more. Not for me thanks 70-110bhp in a light good handling bike is my perfect package.
Is tyres were all over at 3K Bridgestone 30's I think.
Imho s1000xr f@#$in stupid but like the Vulcan bomber I'm glad it was made.
