Sending a PM doesn't seem to work for my account.

I received a PM from another member and it did notify my email and showed on the forum that I had received a PM. But when I tried to reply, that didn't show in my sent file and after I tried to respond to the member via a new PM from me, that doesn't show either. Is there some delay until they receive it or could this be checked?
