2001 f650. idle problems

HI working on a 2001 f650. Bike studders and stalls. Back fires thru throttle body .Checked valves Changed fuel filter an rubber manifold Still backfiring.Someone told me to get a bigger injector . Any Ideas. Don't like just changing parts. Mike

My first recommendation would be to check the health of the battery and make sure that the battery terminals are clean and tight. I don't think a bigger injector is going to help any, although it might need to be cleaned with some injector cleaner. I used to have a 1997 Funduro, but it had a carburetor. I think the 2001 model was the first year with a FI system and it was not very well developed. I am sure you would have better luck posting your question on the Chain Gang forum, if it is still in operation.
